Our privacy commitment

Fourfold is an offline collection of board games. The app does not send your gameplay, saved games, player names, settings, or progress to us. We do not operate a server that collects this information. The app contains no advertising, analytics, tracking, or developer-operated crash-reporting service, and we do not sell or use app data for advertising.

Some information is saved locally so you can continue playing. You can also choose to share a board image. Your device's backup services may make copies of local app data. These activities are explained below.

This policy covers the Fourfold mobile app on Android and iOS with the features described here. Websites, app stores, device services, and other apps have their own privacy practices.

Information used on your device

Fourfold stores information in its local app storage to provide its features:

  • Game positions, moves, game history, and information needed to resume a match.
  • Your selected game and preferences, such as sound, theme, accessibility settings, computer difficulty, and playing pace.
  • Recent match results, dates, local statistics, lesson and puzzle progress, and challenge or circuit progress.
  • Two-player series settings, scores, and optional player names or nicknames you enter. You may use nicknames instead of real names.
  • Locally generated match identifiers and timestamps used to distinguish matches and prevent duplicate results. These are not advertising identifiers and are not transmitted to us.
  • A recovery copy of a saved game if its stored format cannot be loaded, and temporary files needed to create a share image.

Game rules, computer opponents, hints, lessons, and creation of board images for sharing run on your device. No account is required. The app does not read your contacts, location, microphone, camera, advertising identifier, or personal photo library.

Sharing is your choice

When you choose to share a board, Fourfold creates a PNG image locally and shows a preview. The image can contain the board position, game or activity title, move number, result, and relevant game settings. The current share cards do not include the optional player names used in a two-player series.

Only when you choose a destination in the system share sheet is the image made available to that app or service. Fourfold does not upload it to us. The destination you choose may store, publish, or transmit it under its own terms and privacy policy. You control whether to use this feature and whom to send the image to.

On the browser version, you may also download an image. Copies you download or share are separate from the app's local saves.

Storage, retention, and deletion

Local saves and preferences remain until they are replaced, removed by you, or removed by your device. There is no automatic time-based deletion of all local app data. The current app keeps up to 200 recent completed-match records; series scores and other progress are stored separately. Starting a new game does not erase all statistics, names, progress, or recovery copies.

The native sharing feature writes one image to the app cache and overwrites that file when you share another board. It is not immediately deleted after sharing. Your operating system may clear it, and clearing the app cache removes it.

To remove the app's locally stored information:

  • Android: open your device's Settings, find Fourfold under Apps, and use the option to clear its storage or app data. Clearing only the cache does not remove all saved games and preferences.
  • iOS: use the device's option to Delete App to remove its local app data. Offload App can retain documents and data.
  • Browser: clear Fourfold's site data, including local storage and offline caches, through your browser settings.

These actions do not remove images already saved elsewhere, messages sent to other people, or copies held in device backups. Manage those copies with the relevant app, recipient, or backup service. Restoring a backup can restore previous app data.

We cannot access, retrieve, or delete your local saves remotely because we do not receive them.

Device backups and platform services

Fourfold does not provide its own cloud sync or online account. Android's current app configuration allows operating-system backups. Depending on your device and settings, the operating system may copy app data to a backup provider or transfer it to another device. Apple device backups may likewise contain app data, depending on the installed version and your settings. We do not receive or control these copies. Manage backups through your device or backup account settings.

Google Play, the Apple App Store, your operating system, and your device manufacturer may independently process information about downloads, purchases, diagnostics, or device operation. This policy does not describe or override their practices. Fourfold does not integrate an advertising or analytics SDK to send them gameplay data.

Permissions and security

The Android package declares an internet permission as part of its native web runtime. Fourfold's packaged gameplay, fonts, artwork, and computer opponents do not require a developer server. Having that permission does not mean the app uploads your saves.

Sharing uses the operating system's sharing interface and temporary access to the image you selected. Local information relies on your operating system's app-storage protections and your device security. Fourfold does not add a separate encryption layer to its game saves.

Children

The app's data practices are the same for all users. It has no account registration, advertising, tracking, or online chat. We do not ask children to send personal information through the app. A parent or guardian can remove locally stored information using the deletion steps above.

Contacting us outside the app

If you voluntarily email us for support or privacy questions, we receive the address, message, and attachments you send. This is separate from ordinary app use. We use that correspondence to answer your request and retain it only as needed to handle the request or meet applicable legal obligations. Our email provider also processes correspondence under its own policies. Please do not send sensitive information that is unnecessary for your request.

You can contact dev2@leutrim.ch about that correspondence or any applicable privacy rights. We hold no server-side copy of your gameplay data to retrieve or erase. Nothing in this policy limits your rights under applicable privacy law.

Changes and contact

We will update this policy if the app's data practices change and show a new effective date. Any new data-handling feature will need an appropriate disclosure and, where required, permission before it operates.
